Statement of Service
At Petek & Associates, we offer comprehensive public safety psychological evaluations including:
-
Pre-employment Psychological Evaluations
-
Return to Duty Assessments
-
Fit For Duty Examinations

To conduct these evaluations, our providers use proprietary norms developed by the leading researchers in the field of police and public safety psychology. These models, based upon specific public safety job titles, provide the scientific data necessary to improve the accurate selection of future public safety employees.
In addition to the scientific data used in our reports, Petek & Associates has on staff evaluators with over 30 years of combined experience in the field of public safety psychological assessment and consultation (i.e., Dr. Thomas Petek and Dr. Alex Crampton).
Following the completion of the testing and structured interview, our examiners will provide an opinion regarding the likelihood that a candidate can safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the position. Also, if there are risk factors, these will be indicated as well. The areas of essential function include the following:
-
Adaptability and Flexibility
-
Avoidance or Risk-Taking Behaviors
-
Conscientiousness and Dependability
-
Decision-Making and Judgment
-
Emotional Regulation and Stress Tolerance
-
